Lexpo Old Boys

 Lexpo Golf Society News

We play monthly at our member’s home Golf Clubs, on a rotary basis, around outer London to promote exercise and fellowship. . Irrespective of weather forecasts for south London we meet for breakfast and tee off is about 11.00 this is followed by an early evening dinner with post-mortem, excuses, boosting and presentation of the, by our independent adjudicator Dave G, Lobs Golf Trophy. Fees payable are the course guest or over 60 fees. Mick C maintains a Stableford scorecard giving novices a chance, we hope, to hold the trophy until the following month. Dates for the next match are set at dinner or by the host of the next venue.

Reigate  Report

Rain, rain go away!! Well we decided to give it a go and although we had some light showery stuff during the round it was not until the 15th that the deluge occurred causing us to abandon the course. By this time it was clear that Jim was playing the steadiest round which is reflected in the scores whilst Mick, Roy and Dave were pounding out the course. After, when stopping for coffee in the clubhouse, Mick quietly went about manually calculating the stableford points. On entering the scores electronically (when at home) it was evident that Mick had slightly miscalculated so apologies to all - but the ratified scores are as follows - with Jim still the resounding winner:-

So off to the Skimmington Castle for the post match meal with Roy and Dave taking the scenic route and arriving 10 minutes after Mick & Jim. Meat pies and curries were enjoyed whilst the rain continued to pour.

Our next outing was agreed for Monday 25 June 18, at Mitcham GC, with Jim hosting.

All the best and hope you have all dried out!

Mick

See you soon

Regards

Mick

Well done you Lobs

Thanks Mick,
Still a very enjoyable day, despite the weather it’s what you make of it.  The pub banter made up for the rain.... come back Ron, we miss sharing your ‘Eastern European’ input!
Looking forward to Mitcham. Hope to see you there John & good luck with your recovery Frank!

Cheers,
Roy

The Lobs banter I miss it - wishes to Frank - see you all in June
